About the Delta chapter

Our chapter is so special because of our Alpha Omega members (students, alumni, and faculty), and of course, our beloved Dean! Please read the following poem to understand how much we love our AO Chapter:

An Ode to Harvard AO (and Dr. Bruce D)
It was many and many a year ago,
In a dental school by the T,
That a Dean there lived whom you may know
By the name of Dr. Bruce D!
And this dentist he lived with no other thought
Than to found an AO Chapter for all of thee.

We were students and he was a Dean,
In this dental school by the T;
But we loved teeth with a love that was more than love-
Us and our beloved Dean;
With a love that the dentists of Alpha Omega
Coveted all of thee.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this dental school by the T,
A premolar blew out of a mouth, chilling
Our determined Dr. Bruce D;
So that his highborn powers came
And founded our chapter,
To teach, share, and empower thee
In this dental school by the T.

The other dentists, not half so happy in the clinic,
Went envying the Dean and all of thee-
Yes!- that was the reason (as all AO members know,
In this dental school by the T)
That the Harvard handpiece became the gizmo,
Drilling and filling cavities by Dr. Bruce D.

But our love of teeth was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we-
Of many far wiser than we-
And neither the dentists in the clinic above,
Nor the students not in Alpha Omega,
Can ever probe gingiva from the teeth
Like our fabulous Dr. Bruce D.

For the teeth always shine showing wide smiles
Because of the Great Dr. Bruce D;
And the plaque never stays for we have learned
From the Great Dr. Bruce D;
And so, all clinic-wide, AO members work in stride
Of our love of teeth- our love far and wide,
To teach, share, and empower thee
In this Harvard AO chapter by the T.
